Americanism and Obama

Barack Obama:

As Commander-in-Chief, I will never hesitate to defend this nation, but I will only send our troops into harm’s way with a clear mission and a sacred commitment to give them the equipment they need in battle and the care and benefits they deserve when they come home.

Let us keep that promise – that American promise – and in the words of Scripture hold firmly, without wavering, to the hope that we confess.

Hebrews 10:23:

Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful.

Not exactly referring to the same thing. Please note: America does not equal Jesus Christ.

Wait wait wait… You mean America isn’t savior of the world? Dude, that blows my MIND! /sarcasm

On that note, I really hate the kind of Scripture games political leaders use, it’s really obnoxious–not to mention pretty damn idolatrous.

Me too. It reminds me of Augustus’ propaganda, to tell you the truth.
